Article contents
I was deeply saddened yesterday to learn of the passing of Judge Ola Lewis after a long battle with cancer. She served the people of North Carolina for more than twenty years and was truly a pioneer in the judiciary. During her time on the bench, she promoted a number of innovative programs, including drug treatment and mental health courts, that served as models throughout the state and across the nation. Our prayers are with her family and her community during this very difficult time.
