Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge Christy E. Wilhelm as chief district court judge of Judicial District 19A (Cabarrus County), effective January 1, 2019. Judge Wilhelm will succeed Chief Judge William G. Hamby Jr., who is retiring at the end of the year.

Judge Wilhelm has served as district court judge in Judicial District 19A since appointed in 2014. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Campbell University School of Law.
