Chief Justice Cheri Beasley made the following appointments:
- Chief District Court Judge Teresa Vincent (Judicial District 18) was appointed to the Judicial Standards Commission
- Maxine Evans-Armwood, Director of Court Services for the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice at the NC Department of Public Safety, was appointed to the Family Court Advisory Committee
- District Court Judge Mary F. Covington (Judicial District 22B) was appointed to the North Carolina State Council for Interstate Juvenile Supervision
- Chief District Court Judge Mack Brittain (Judicial District 29B) was appointed to the North Carolina State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision
