Chief Justice Beasley Appoints Chief District Court Judges in Judicial Districts 18 and 20B

Chief Justice Cheri Beasley appointed Judge Teresa H. Vincent as chief district court judge, effective August 13, 2019, for Judicial District 18 (Guilford County). Judge Vincent will fill the vacancy created by the passing of Chief District Court Judge Tom Jarrell on August 3, 2019.
Chief Justice Beasley appointed Judge William F. Helms, III as chief district court judge, effective August 29, 2019, for Judicial District 20B (Union County). Judge Helms will fill the vacancy created by Chief District Court Judge Nathan Hunt Gwyn, Jr.'s appointment to Superior Court.
Judge Vincent has served as a district court judge in Judicial District 18 since 2000. She received an undergraduate degree in public administration from North Carolina Central University in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 1993.
Judge Helms has served as a district court judge in Judicial District 20B since 2007. He received an undergraduate degree from Davidson College in 1990, a Master of Arts in theological studies from Duke University in 1993, and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1997.
