Supreme Court Amends the Rules of Appellate Procedure

The Supreme Court’s order amending the rules was adopted on 19 March 2025 and becomes effective on 1 April 2025.

The Supreme Court of North Carolina has adopted amendments to the North Carolina Rules of Appellate Procedure in response to the legislature’s recent amendment to N.C.G.S. § 7A-30. The Supreme Court’s order includes amendments to Rules 14, 15, and 16 and Appendixes A and D.

The Supreme Court’s order amending the rules was adopted on 19 March 2025 and becomes effective on 1 April 2025.
