On June 19, Durham County Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Orlando F. Hudson Jr. received the 2016 Outstanding Trial Judge Award from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ).
Durham attorney William S. Mills and Judge Mary Ann Tally, a former award recipient, had the honor of presenting the award to Judge Hudson. In his introduction, Mills discussed how Judge Hudson's deep sense of caring made reaching the right decision, not necessarily the most politically expedient decision, a hallmark of Judge Hudson's judicial career.
Judge Hudson, during his acceptance remarks, thanked the advocates for the award and encouraged continued vigilance in their efforts to protect people's rights in the judicial system.
