Chief Justice Mark Martin has announced the following appointments as chief district court judges.

Judge Regina R. Parker is appointed chief district court judge for Judicial District 2 (Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell, and Washington counties), effective March 1. She replaces Chief District Court Judge Michael Paul, upon his retirement.

Judge Galen Braddy is appointed chief district court judge for Judicial District 3A (Pitt County), effective March 1. He replaces Chief District Court Judge P. Gwynett Hilburn, upon her retirement.
