Chief Justice Mark Martin has announced the start of the NCcourts.org website redesign project. The main goals of the site are to provide access to information for citizens going to court, allow for online transactional court business, and add a greater level of transparency to the Judicial Branch.

"The website is the 24x7 public face of our Judicial Branch," said Chief Justice Martin. "The main goal is to build a new site that meets the diverse and varied needs and expectations and to provide a more modern experience for all stakeholders."

Justice Barbara Jackson, who heads the Technology Committee of the North Carolina Commission on the Administration of Law and Justice, will be the sponsor of the website redesign project. The project will be staffed by NCAOC's Communications Office. In addition, a diverse, deep-reaching group of co-sponsors throughout the Judicial Branch will help to champion this project. The many perspectives and work experiences that each brings will collectively represent our Judicial Branch and what is needed in an improved public website.

"I am eager to begin this work and to learn how the site can better meet the needs of justice system stakeholders," said Justice Jackson. "At the outset, we expect the new site to be dynamic, provide a content management system, and be responsive on mobile devices."

The next step in the process is to determine what is needed to improve the site. Citizens are invited to complete a survey on NCcourts.org for public response.
